  • 1 1/3 cup warm water
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar or honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 -3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
 

  • Combine the water, yeast, and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Stir until dissolved, and a little foamy. Yeast is now active.
  • Add in the egg, oil and salt.
  • Add the flour one cup at a time. Once the mixture is stiff, transfer it to a well-floured countertop.
  • Knead for 4-5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour.
  • Shape the smooth dough into a ball and place in a bowl. Cover with a dish cloth and let rise in a warm place for one hour, or until doubled in size.
